Fighting The Good Fight

History demonstrates that not everything is reducible to mere matters of differences of opinion. There are times when real values are at stake and matters become quite grave. How grave? We become confronted with the very bedrock of our values. We become confronted with evil and its inverse – good. In those times, it is questioned whether the sacrifice, risk, or cost is worth the battle. Should we contend even at the prospect of lost? Absolutely!

If not now then when, if not us then who…

I do not know what you believe but I am quite sure of what I believe. I believe that the world is given to us as a gift from God. We are the solely responsible for it and will be held accountable for our management. With this in mind, we become tasked with the very truth that it is to us the lot falls regarding evil. If there is evil in this world than we must ask ourselves why do we allow it. It is for this reason that the answer to whether the fight is worth it- the good fight- is a resounding yes. We owe it to all those who have taken up the torch before us. We owe it to all of those who have fought and sacrifice so that we could live. We owe to our families and ourselves because what would be the point of living in the world completely shrouded and engulfed by darkness. What is the point of living in an evil world? #Savescranton
